Purpose and scope of accessibility grants

Accessibility grants are intended to support projects that remove architectural, communication or technological barriers which make it difficult or impossible for people with disabilities to use a wide range of services and infrastructure. This applies to public buildings as well as to means of transport and information and communication technologies.

What exactly is an accessibility grant?

Article 126 - Act on Public Finance.

“Grants are funds from the state budget, from the budgets of local government units and from state special-purpose funds, subject to special accounting rules, allocated under this Act, separate acts or international agreements to finance or co-finance the performance of public tasks.”

Conceptual illustration on the theme of 'Accessibility grants'. In the centre of the image is a grant application form with euro symbols and the European Union flag in the background, highlighting the link with EU funding. On the right is a symbol of digital accessibility - a screen with screen reader icons and the design of an accessible website. On the left are elements of architectural accessibility, such as a wheelchair ramp and Braille. The composition is balanced and educational, visually conveying the idea of financial support for improving accessibility in various areas.
