Transcription of audio and video

We turn a recording into text — of any length, in whatever format you need. Software prepares the first draft, but every transcript is checked and corrected by a person.

Why transcribe

A recording you can read

A written record opens the material up to deaf and hard-of-hearing people, but everyone benefits. Text can be searched, quoted and skimmed in a minute instead of listened to for an hour. For public bodies it is also a legal requirement.

  • Access for deaf people

Content that previously existed only as sound becomes available to deaf and hard-of-hearing people — with no intermediary and without having to ask for help.

  • Material you can search

In a text you find the passage you need in seconds, quote it in a document and send colleagues a link. In a recording you first have to hunt for it.

  • A legal requirement

WCAG requires a text alternative for audio recordings and captions for video. For public bodies this is a statutory duty, not good practice.

How we work

From recording to finished file

Artificial intelligence speeds up the first stage but does not finish the job. Every text passes through a transcriber's hands, because it is the transcriber who catches proper names, slips of the tongue and passages the software did not make out.

  1. Order and quote

You send the file or a link to the recording and tell us what format the text should be in. We reply with a quote and a deadline.

  2. First-pass transcription

The recording goes through speech recognition software. The result is a raw transcript that shortens the work but is not yet fit to hand over.

  3. Correction by a person

A transcriber listens to the recording and corrects the text: names, technical terms, punctuation and speaker labels.

  4. Format and conversion

We save the result in the format you need — TXT, DOCX, PDF or SRT with timecodes for subtitles.

  5. Your comments

You read it through and send us corrections. We make them before we treat the job as finished.

  6. Handover and support

You receive the finished file. If questions come up later, or you need another format, we pick the subject back up.

Pricing

Work out the approximate cost

The cost depends on the length of the recording and on how hard it is to transcribe. The figure below is an estimate — we confirm the final price once we have listened to the material.

Length of the recording
Difficulty

Estimated cost:

Enter the length of the recording
Rates per minute of recording
Level Price incl. VAT
Easy A single speaker, clean audio. 2,50 PLN
Standard An interview, podcast, training session, a few speakers. 3,00 PLN
Difficult A focus group, a hearing, many speakers, poorer audio. 4,50 PLN

Prices are per minute of recording, not per minute of work. For longer material and ongoing cooperation we agree individual terms.

What format you get the text in

You choose when ordering. If you are not sure which format you will need, we will advise — it depends on what you want to do with the text next.

TXT Plain text DOCX An editable document PDF Ready to print SRT Subtitles with timecodes

Order a transcription

Write to us and attach the file or a link to the recording. Tell us the target format for the text and the deadline you need it by. We will reply with a quote and confirm the date.
